Marouan Omara

Marouan Omara is an award-winning filmmaker based in Cairo. His films reflect on their direct response to the surroundings and closeness to everyday experiences, Wander around the unmarked territory between fiction and documentary to explore the nexus of power and citizenship. He received his BA in Applied Arts – Photography, Cinema & TV (2010), followed with a Diploma in TV & Film Production (2012). Marouan is an alumnus of prestigious educational programs such as La Fabrique Cinema, Berlinale Talents, Durban Talents, IDFAcademy & Documentary Campus. Marouan work as a consultant for different film programs, and teaches film production in different universities in Egypt and abroad. Recently, He got assigned to be The Director of Short Film Competition at The Cairo International Film Festival.
